Unique X, the global leader in theatre management systems, today announced the commencement of the RosettaBridge TMS V6 lifecycle, the highly anticipated next generation of its flagship theatre management system. In keeping with its reputation for customer relations, Unique X is launching an extensive customer consultation as phase one of the process.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for the company: 2026 is the 20th anniversary of Unique X beginning development on its pioneering “ingest-server” in the early days of digital cinema. That foundational technology rapidly evolved into RosettaBridge TMS. Across five major version releases over two decades, RosettaBridge and its companion Circuit Management System, RosettaNet, have established themselves as the world’s leading cinema operational software, currently powering over 45,000 screens in 104 countries.
Unique X holds a rare and powerful differentiator: the original product team that engineered the first system in 2006 remains at the helm of RosettaBridge TMS today. This unbroken continuity provides an unmatchable depth of digital cinema expertise and institutional knowledge driven by a passion for cinema. That know-how and a constantly refreshed tech-stack are woven into the fabric of every product release.
“Looking back at the last 20 years, we are incredibly proud of how RosettaBridge and RosettaNet have become the theatre and circuit management systems of choice for both the world’s largest cinema circuits and independent theatres alike,” said Phil Morris, Chief Commercial Office for Unique X. “Our focus has always been on the future. Each year we release multiple versions and average 350 improvements to the platform annually. With RosettaBridge V6, we are not simply upgrading our system — we are fundamentally reimagining what a Theatre Management System should be while retaining the vast capabilities of RosettaBridge and RosettaNet”
RosettaBridge V6 will represent a paradigm shift in exhibition technology. The new version will lean heavily into the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence, both in the foundational software architecture and in the deployment of agentic AI capabilities designed to autonomously manage, optimise, and transform daily cinema operations. The result will be a system that does not merely respond to instructions, but actively anticipates operational needs, resolves issues proactively, and continuously maximises efficiency and revenue across an exhibitor’s entire estate.
To ensure V6 precisely aligns with the evolving needs of modern exhibitors, Unique X is concurrently launching a comprehensive global customer consultation process. The company is actively engaging with its extensive user base to gather insights on their current operational experiences and to collaborate directly on the feature set for the upcoming release.
Exhibitors will be able to access the consultation portal through uniquex.com after CinemaCon
