Cinépolis is the world’s third-largest cinema exhibitor, operating more than 889 theatres across 18 countries in Latin America, India, the Middle East, and beyond. With 6837 screens, Cinépolis requires technology infrastructure that can operate consistently at that scale across multiple territories and regulatory environments.
In 2026, Cinépolis selected Unique X to upgrade its global Theatre Management System and expand its advertising operations — a deployment covering the full Unique X product suite across the entire global estate.
The Weight of Global Operations
A Circuit at Operational Scale Requiring Automated Operations and Centralised Control
Cinépolis required a Theatre Management System and Circuit Management System capable of supporting the full complexity of its global operations. Their existing platform — Arts Alliance Media’s Screenwriter TMS — was replaced with a solution that could deliver greater automation across scheduling, content scheduling, advertising, KDM management, and provide centralised visibility across all 18 territories from a single system.
The deployment needed to cover all 889 theatres and 6,837 screens simultaneously, with each territory presenting its own operational design, language requirements, and regulatory environment — while Cinépolis’s full exhibition programme of 1.5 million shows continued without interruption.

The deployment required full migration of every site, user account, macro, automated playlist, and pre-show schedule across 18 territories — each with distinct operational configurations — within an eight-week window in order to be migrated before the release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Each territory required its own pilot theatre quality assurance process prior to full rollout. Over 600 Cinépolis staff across all departments and territories needed to be trained and operational before their site went live. Additionally India required a scheduled two-week project pause to align with the release of Dhurandhar Pt 2, one of the year’s major Bollywood releases.

How the Deployment Was Executed
Step 1 — Pre-Configuration
Every RosettaBridge TMS installation was fully pre-configured before deployment. The software connected to Unique X’s cloud installation services on download, receiving its complete operational configuration — equipment settings, user accounts, macros, smart programs, and pre-show playlists. No on-site configuration required.
Step 02 — Territory Pilots
Each of the 18 territories received a dedicated pilot site before full rollout began. Every pilot was quality-assured against that territory’s specific operational design and signed off before further sites went live — giving each market a validated reference installation.
Step 3 — Training
Unique X delivered a train-the-trainer programme across every Cinépolis department and territory, supported by a multilingual training video library and full access to the Unique X Product Knowledge Base. All 600+ users were trained and operational before their site went live.
Step 4 — India: Scheduled Around Dhurandhar Pt2
At Cinépolis’s request, Unique X paused the India deployment for two weeks to protect screens for the Bollywood release Dhurandhar Pt2. The deployment resumed on schedule and completed within the overall eight-week timeline.
Step 05 — Handover to 24/7 Network Operations Centrendover to NOC
On completion of each territory, operational support transferred to Unique X’s 24/7 Network Operations Centre. For Cinépolis staff, no adjustment was required — their new system was fully configured and ready when they arrived.

One of the most significant transformations delivered by this deployment is the integration of Advertising Accord — already utilised by the majority of cinema advertising agencies partners serving Cinépolis territories, and deployed independently in Mexico, India and GCC territories.
Advertising Operations Now Enchanced
Advertising sales and management across all Cinépolis territories is now handled end-to-end by Advertising Accord. Sales, campaign scheduling, playlist creation, delivery verification, and inventory management are now enhanced by the Unique X platform.
Advertising Accord enables Cinépolis to package and price inventory in more flexible, targeted ways, giving their commercial teams greater control over how available capacity is used.
Infrastructure for Data-Driven Trading
Advertising Accord is already used by the majority of cinema advertising agencies serving Cinépolis’s markets, making the integration direct and the operational benefits immediate.
The platform positions Cinépolis’s inventory for optimised and automated sales, as well as readiness for programmatic trading, with the data infrastructure and automated verification that programmatic buyers require.
